A Sense of Smell

Detail
Did you know that oak leaves smell quite different to sycamore leaves? Have you ever noticed the scent of a deer or fox whilst out on a walk? Does the smell of cut grass bring back childhood memories?
According to new research the smells experienced in nature can help boost psychological well-being, making us feel relaxed, joyful and healthy. Immerse yourself in smells on this gentle, sensory, 2 hours walk and enjoy everything autumnal, like the mushrooms and beautiful coloured leaves, whilst exploring Conkwell Woods.
There is uneven ground throughout the woods. Please note that this is a Pay & Display car park which takes coins and cards. Please walk, car-share or cycle where possible. There are public toilets at the beginning and end of this walk; the café will be open at the end of the walk.
Please bring:
- Warm enough clothing for the weather (remember it will be much cooler in the woods)
- Sturdy footwear
- Camera (optional)
- Notebook & pen (optional)
