As part of the Springfield Quarry Big Bioblitz we will be taking a walk around the quarry in the late evening to see what bats may use this area to forrage for food or roost.

You will need

  • Sturdy footwear for walking over uneven ground
  • Warm weather appropriate clothing
  • Torch
  • Phone to record the amplified echo location signals

Please also note a maximum of two children (<18) per responsible adult, the safety of your children remains your responsibility (this event may not be suitable for very young children). Risk of falling rocks: Please ensure you or your children do not stray near the edge of the quarry walls or fencing. In the event of poor weather, this event may be cancelled or postponed at our discretion, participants will be notified of this as soon as possible via Eventbrite.  We will meet by the entrance to Springfield Quarry, please ensure you enter via Entry Hill Park.
